Dickinson Group Partnering with the Community

“Businesses cannot be successful when the society around them fail.” this is a Quote from the Responsible Business Summit held in 2013.On Wednesday the 21st of June 2017, Dickinson Group as part of its extensive Corporate and Social Responsibility took the quote to practise by being the solution to some of the challenges faced by the less privileged within society. Beneficiaries Ikhwezilokusa Home Ikwezilokuza is a home for the physically and mentally challenged adults and children, located in the Gauteng province of South Africa. The facility is currently home to over 140 residents. The Dickinson Group Chief Executive officer; Mr. Trevor Dickinson and his team presenting shoes and socks to each of the 143 residents of Ikhwezilokusa Home. Ikhwezilokusa residents after receiving their gifts. Sukasambe Children’s home Sukasambe is a home for physically and mentally disabled children. The home currently houses 26 children aged between 6 and 17 years. Sukasambe Children’s home receiving their monthly supply of meat Leamogetswe Orphanage Leamogetswe is an orphanage which currently houses 16 children amongst whom the oldest is 18 years old and the youngest is 8 months old. Leamogetswe Orphanage receives clothing and Heaters for their residents The Donations The donations included the following for the three beneficiaries: Sukasambe Children’s home: Monthly supplies of meat Ikwezilokuza Home: Shoes and socks for all the residents Leamogetswe Orphanage: Gas heaters and clothing for the kids Furthermore the company supplies diapers monthly to Sukasambe Children’s home and shall be providing meat supplies and gas refills for the gas heaters. Although these home face other different, the impact of this gesture will be felt always. These individuals have opened their doors to the disadvantaged members of the society and dedicated their daily lives for their entire wellbeing. They are constantly and consistently mobilising all the resources at their disposal to build and mould homes for the underprivileged, however they cannot do this alone. As the corporate world we need to get involved in this process and bridge all gaps that exist to make a difference in the society around us. If we have the means, we have the responsibility to employ them
